History of the Photographs

Most of the photographs on the site are from the collection of Les Whisler, and were collected over the years from various sources.  One of the most important sources was the personal family collection of Dorothy Underwood Blackman, who had many photographs relating to the Lutz, Moschel, and Underwood families.  She placed these things in my care, hoping to have them made public in some way.  This website is an attempt to commemorate the early history of Washburn using this collection.

Another important contributor to the project was Georgianne Pelz, who loaned photographs to me, and helped to fill in gaps in the coverage of early Washburn.  The website is just beginning, I'm sure there will be great additions as time goes by.
