Aaron & Mattie Ellen King Whisler

Aaron and Mattie moved to Fremont Co. Iowa in 1889, Living near Shenandoah. The top photo was taken in Shenandoah Iowa.They did not stay long there, moving back to Appanoose Co. in 1891, buying a farm at Udell, Iowa. Aaron was very much interested in education, and his son M.A.(Mertie) inherited that from him. Aaron was a leader in the push for consolidation of schools in Southern Iowa.
