My Research on this project started in about 1963, when I began collecting data and anecdotal material for this family history of the Whislers.
I was greatly aided in this by the research of my mother, Joyce Wiley Whisler, my aunt Myrtle Whisler Kenyon, aunt Juanita Whisler, and aunt Alberta Whisler Christ. Aunt Alberta supplied me with tons of photos, to make the website a photo family tree whereever possible. My mother also contributed the use of many Whisler family photos. Her interest in the geneaology of her family naturally extended to the family history of my father.
Gale Edwin Spitler Honeyman self published an astounding history of the Spitler family that includes the bulk of my branch of the Whisler Family, right down to my children, and for this I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude. The book is huge, and is invaluable in content. It is called "The House of Spittler-Spitler".
The early history of the Wissler/Whistler/Whisler family owes a huge debt to the studies of Francis Robinson, thank you!
