Ralph ran Whisler's Welding, a Low Point, IL. hangout for area residents. He had a reputation for quality work and was called on for many fabrication projects, where a high degree of skill and practical imagination was necessary. Many stories and much history was shared at the little station next to his welding shop. R was a sheriff's deputy and local politician serving as Cazenovia Township Supervisor and did much for the public good during his time in office. He was much appreciated for his fair thinking and his sense of humor. He undertook the preservation and support of the Old LowPoint Bethel Cemetary, where he was laid to rest, on a nob that overlooks his welding shop.
