John Thomas
B. D.
John Thomas was the son of Andreas Thomas, who was the main superintendant of the Pine Grove Furnace. Andreas Thomas became superintendant sometime after the end of Andreas Baumbaugh's tenancy in that position. His home was on the other side of Pine Mt. from the Furnace. Generations of both families worked at the Furnace. |
We know that John had a brother, Samuel Thomas, who gave Barbara a hand woven coverlet, before Barbara's family came to Illinois by covered wagon. We also know that John Thomas came to Illinois, because he is buried in Woodford County, at the (?) cemetary, but he did not come with Barbara and JB Tawzer as far as we know. |
