Maria married John Mattler Tawzer after securing his promise to give his sailing life. He moved from Cape May, NJ to Pine Mt. in Adams Co. PA and went to work in the Iron Works there. Maria's father was the Master Miner at the Furnace, and everyone in both families seemed to have worked there. The house of John and Maria was close to Andreas house on the Adams Co. side of Pine Mountain.

 John married Maria Magdalena Baumbach (Bombach-Brumbach) on Jan.13, 1797 at Pine Grove Furnace, Cumberland Co. P.A. Andreas Baumbach, Maria's father had been a resident there since the beginning of the Iron Works in 1787.

Maria died in 1846 and was buried at the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetary at Benderville..

Her husband then moved to Illinois with Jeremiah B.
