Mattie (Martha) Ellen King was my father's only grandparent that lived long enough for him to know at all. She was well loved by my dad and his brother and sisters, and I also remember her. All her children were very nice people. She was very sick in her older age, but one could tell that she had a very good personality, was exceedingly intelligent and was admired by all.
