M.A. was a Brethren Minister, his first church was the Fairview Church of the Brethren in Udell, Ia.. He moved to Illinois and farmed 3 farms, purchasing the last one, in Bricktown, IL. next to the Oak Grove church of the Brethren, where he farmed and preached for over 30 years. He died at 90, still very sharp in wit and driving at his usual fast speed. He was and still is honored by all around the area where he lived. He was on the school board for 12 years, and was an excellent and exciting preacher and an inspiration to the community.
